I can’t really tell you much about “A Cabin In The Woods” without giving too much away. Suffice it to say, that it is nothing like anything you have ever seen before. Unless you are prone to weird hallucinations or regularly drop acid! It is strange, wacky, gross, and hilarious all at the same time. There are no real words to describe it. It is a must-see for horror fans, but will be too much for the faint of heart. This is definitely not family viewing!
Co-scripted by Josh Wheedon of “Buffy”fame, the story is anything but the norm for the slasher genre. What seems to be the standard college kids/movie meat in the woods story has a whole bunch of sub-levels that are wildly imaginative. At the same time, the film plays like a ’70’s drive-in flick with really cheesy lines and campy bad acting, including a cameo by a big actress, that left the whole audience both laughing and agasp .
If you like tons of gore mixed with an over-the-top plot and a sprinkle of snarky humor, “A Cabin In The Woods” delivers big time. See it before the secret gets out.
