On Friday, March 18th, 2016, The Moms Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein hosted an awesome Mamarazzi® screening of My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 featuring a Q&A with the iconic film’s creator Nia Vardalos and new breakout star, Elena Kampouris. Held at the New York Institute of Technology Auditorium, the event was sponsored by Windex® brand & Fujifilm Instax and brought together influential moms and media for yet he highly anticipated follow-up to the highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time. Audiences worldwide embraced the immensely relatable characters, seeing their own families reflected in the adorably brash and bold Portokalos clan members.
Prior to the screening, guests gathered outside the theater to enjoy interactive displays from co-hosts Windex and Fujifilm Instax and tasty greek themed nibbles and drinks. Immediately following the screening, Nia and Elena delighted the crowd through a no-holds barred discussion with the Moms and a revealing and often hilarious Q&A with the crowd. From the making of both films, to topics such as parenting, marriage and Greek traditions, the gals were hilarious throughout. I asked about Nia’s families reaction to their film portrayals and she delightfully brought the real cousin Nicky on stage!
The film itself is a corny good time and if you live away from your family or have lost them like I have, it will make you miss them.
I laughed a lot but was teary-eyed as well.
Guests were sent home with a lovely gift bag full of Windex products, Greek pastries, and an new Fujifilm Instax 70 camera.
