I had one of the best times of my Life at this year’s Afropunk! Sponsored by Kicker Audio, the manufacturers of my favorite headphones, I caught up with acts that I have known for over 15 years, like George Clinton and Parliment, Living Colour, Bad Brains, and Fishbone. It was a weekend of total bliss and I was very happy to see music and entertainment journalist Greg Tate, as well as, other folks from my music biz past. I also made some great new acquaintances including the mega-talented Toronto-based singer Sate. I can’t believe I didn’t recognize my old buddy Cass Lewis of Skunk Anasie till after, so am hoping to catch up with him when they next tour the states. Cass knew me when I was a skinny rock chick living in the UK, which is always a great memory!
