Kung Fu Panda 2 is a barrel of rollicking fun with more storyline and far more action than the first. Finally, a movie where the 3D is put to use in an imaginative way that actually adds to the entertainment value. This time, Po (perfectly cast Jack Black) is a fully trained Kung Fu Master and leading the Furious Five, must help save China from the evil albino peacock, Lord Shen (Gary Oldman). There are some wonderful side plots involving Po finding Inner Peace and his discovery that he is adopted, that are poignant and heartwarming. And like the best animated films, the script provides tons of laughs for both kids and their parents. I was disappointed with the reports that the opening weekend was weak and I hope that the film picks up momentum. I am just dying for part three after the teaser at the end.
