Electoral College Puts Final Nail In America’s Coffin

The Electoral College meets today to decide whether a racist, sexist, narcissistic, bullying demagogue with foreign ties that are a clear conflict of interest and apparent allegiance to white supremacists groups though his pick as his chief strategist, should be the confirmed as the next President of the United States.

Despite one courageous elector, who publicly spoke out and a handful of Democratic objectors, the Republican electors appear too be just as unpatriotic as their candidate. From all accounts they are going to vote him in, despite there being multiple reasons not to. The irony of this is the possibility of an unfit man, such as Donald Trump, entering the White House is the exact reason the Founding Fathers thought we needed an Electoral College. In the words of Alexander Hamilton, the electors—usually high-ranking party officials from each state (which in itself is cause for concern!)—exist in order to ensure the presidency “never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications” or a man with “talents for low intrigue, and the little arts of popularity.”  Trump is the poster boy of the man that Hamilton described!

God definitely did not bless America, my home sweet home, this year! Here is the list of electors’ names so we know who to blame in a year’s time when the country collapses.
