TGATP Must- Have: United Nude Shoes

Iris van Herpen/United Nude Boot

Back in May, I discovered, and instantly fell in love with the United Nude brand, when they opened their new city digs at 25 Bond St.  The innovative shoe line has become a TGATP favorite and I highly recommend that every TGATP gal add at least one of their pieces to her collection.  I have two favorites from the Spring/Summer 2010 collection.  The first one is the Ruby Peep Toe, a Hepburn-ish dream of a flat, which can be wore through Spring and Summer and transition you right through the early fall.  My second fav is the Mobius Strappy Mid, which is a clever play on the gladiator trend.  This darling shoe gives new meaning to “strappy” even including an adorable strap on the back heel.

For the fall, United Nude teamed up with Iris van Herpen and created shoes for her Autumn/Winter 2010 collection, which were presented in her catwalk show during London Fashion Week,  The van Herpen/United Nude product is a one-of-a-kind ankle bootie with smooth round lines and golden leather detailing on the front and back of the shoe.  Transparency, reflections, and movements create the 3-D effect of visual estrangement.  United Nude’s Creative Director, Rem D Koolhaas reflected on the collaboration by saying, “I think the result of our work with Iris is that of a pure and successful collaboration, as her identity and our expertise and craftsmanship, are joined together in this marvelous product.”

The United Nude/van Herpen boot is a very limited edition release and will only yield 240 pairs (168 in Black and 72 in Ivory) making it a TGATP fashionista’s must-have!  (Style Goddess Lady GaGa has already snagged her pair!) They are available at exclusive stores and the United Nude flagship stores in NY, Amsterdam, Shanghai, and Vienna this fall.
