(This is a Level 1 post. Food was provided for me to review but did not influence my opinion)
It takes chutzpah to take on the States in the burger business. Hell, we INVENTED the hamburger! But Uncle Sams, which hails from Beijing, is giving its US competitiors a run for their money with customers declaring it one of the best burger joints in NYC. The menu was developed by a team led by a James Beard award-winning chef and includes their signature burger with Swiss cheese, Chinise oysters, and sautéed mushrooms.
Since I had recently went off beef, I was so happy to find that Uncle Sams also has the tastiest chicken sandwiches in Manhattan. With moist white meat fried crispy in a panko crust layered with a smear of black bean mayo and butter pickles, each sandwich is sheer culinary perfection. The Bejing with Hoisin sauce tops my list.
Second best is the So Cal with Avocado, Jalapenos, and Sprouts. But my very favorite thing on the menu is the Kale Salad served with a Veggie patty. I smothered my tater tors with cheese and scallions but you can also have beef chili. Make sure to leave room for a milkshake. I had the chocolate and just writing about it is making me crave one right now!
