Though I usually see all of the nominated films at screenings, between being concentrated on the elections, the brutal cold of this winter, and a 4th bout with Covid, I missed a lot of films this year. Here are my picks and opinions on what I did see.

I’m going to say it, the “Barbie” movie was fun. However, just because it made a ton of money does NOT make it a great or Oscar-worthy film. Neither Greta Gerwig, Ryan Gosling, or Margo Robbie achieved that excellence in “Barbie”.
