Even an overzealous freelancer named BJ (presumably an abbreviation for “Big Jerk” as he was a little Nazi!) could not ruin what was a marvelous evening of bowling and partying held by the Ben Gordon New Life Foundation! I was extremely thrilled to meet both Alonso Mourning and big sweetheart Dwayne Wade, both of the Miami Heat. I had a complete blast even though I was inexplicably bowling like Obama! Also in attendance were: Kwame Jackson of “The Apprentice: Season One” and PR maven and inspirational speaker, Terrie Williams and Angie Martinez.
The Ben Gordon New Life Foundation was founded by Mr. Gordon, a Mt. Vernon native and NBA star guard for the Chicago Bulls, to help young people improve life skills. By promoting education, and providing mentoring to young people, the foundation enables them to reach their full potential and become well-rounded members of their communities. The Bowlmor bowling event was part of the 5th Annual Ben Gordon Community Weekend, being held from August 14-15th, in the New York area.
