It was a burst of pastel at the Lilly Pulitzer store (1020 Madison Ave near 78th) shopping event! The evening was in support of the Colourful Cause initiative, which features a limited edition collection of mother and child celebrity designed prints, with a portion of the proceeds going to The Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation, which targets a rare childhood skin disease. Sponsored by Town & Country and hosted by Brooke Shields, who was unfortunately unable to attend, the evening was a lovely breath of fresh air from a seemingly endless rainy summer, with Pulitzer clad socialites abound. My personal favorite was a little 3-year old who came out in her best frock and had to be coaxed into putting her lollipop aside for her photo op. While some people find her shtick a bit twee, I have always loved Lilly’s clothes as they are so upliftingly spring-like and also so totally American! (Although I could see myself sporting Lilly in the South of France or my Italian villa!)
