Last night, guests gasped with delight as Madonna made a surprise appearance to present an award to Neil Cole of Iconix at the 5th Annual Fashion Delivers Gala. Adorned in a dress of silver sparkles with the blondest of blonde hair, she was a absolute vision. Other honorees included Tommy Hilfiger and Liz Sweeney of JC Penney, who all received the “Fashion Has Heart” award for outstanding philanthropic efforts from Fashion Delivers.
To celebrate the 5th anniversary of the organization, guests were treated to a cocktail hour followed by a three-course meal and program at the iconic Waldorf Astoria. It was the second evening this week that was packed with fashion glitterati with Molly Sims, who served as the MC, Tommy Hilfiger, Mike Ullman and Liz Sweeney of JC Penney, Allan Ellinger of MMG, and a host of fashion industry insiders all present. Marty Staff of JA Apparel, was also in attendance and completely hysterical as Molly’s co-host during the live text auction.
It was great to catch up with the effervescent Molly Sims, who I haven’t seen since she donated her lovely jewelry to the gift bags for my “I Survived Fashion Week” event back in September. I was seated at dinner with the delightful Erica Linden-Fineberg of Fineberg PR, the PR agency for the event, NYC character and noted photographer Steve Sands, two lovely young women, one of whom worked for MMG, and a dapper young gent, who was there to support his lady-love, an event organizer from Fashion Delivers. On the way out, I was delighted to meet Allan Ellinger’s proud mom, who exuded a bubbly and warm spirit.
