TGATP Best in Booty: Fall Jeans Guide – Win a Pair!

TGATP Favorites Lucky Brand

A survey found that women are as nervous about picking jeans as they are about choosing swimsuits!  Particularly a challenge for us curvy girls, they can look downright slovenly without the right cut and color.  Thus, TGATP has picked the best jeans of the season for the size 10/14 gals!  One tip is to always go with a darker, dressier wash if you are a size 10 and up.  This will make you look both slimmer and more elegant than the faded brand.  I also prefer dress jeans on older women as faded is too youthful unless you are gardening.  In addition, avoid wearing trainers with jeans.  Sneakers are for the gym and coupled with jeans they are just plain sloppy on any gal!  There are tons of alternative shoes from loafers to boots to chunky heels that provide a more polished look.

Below my favorite jeans of this season:

Lucky Brand Sofia Boot Cut

Lucky Brand:  Lucky Brand is one of the best bets for jeans that give you a nice fit in the booty.  My favorite jean, that I currently own, is the Lucky Brand Sofia Boot.  With a super stretch, true to fit technology that hugs your curves, these jeans make every gal as bootylicious as Kim Kardashian!  I have them in a luxurious dark wash and they come with cute floral inner pockets.  And best of all, they are cut to proper proportions so I did not have to hem them.  My second favorite pair are the 7o’s influenced Charlie Flare, which I only didn’t get because they didn’t have my size.  Lucky Brand Jeans are a win all around!

Old Navy Retro Flare

Old Navy Old Navy has always been my go-to for affordable jeans on trend.  I lived in the skinny Rockstars for a number of seasons.  This Fall, I am mad for two of their new offerings: the Trouser cut and the Retro Flare, which are narrow in the thigh but fan out to an amazing bell bottom.  My one issue with Old Navy is that they really need to get a regular height fit model.  The average American woman is 5’6 and a size 14.  Yet their regular is always cut for a woman of 5’8 or more.  I am 5’7″and yet I always have to buy the short, which makes no sense.  Truly short women are 5″4 or below, so the short would not fit them either.  It results in an annoying hemming project for both regular and short women!  I am spending this Saturday afternoon hemming about 5 pairs of their pants!  In addition, an equal amount of the regular, short, and long all need to be available in the stores.  I could not purchase the Retro Flare because they do not carry the short in store.  The sales lady told me that this was an issue for tons of women, who were all asking for the short.  And unless they are going to offer free shipping, it is not smart to assume that women will just shop online for what is not in the stores.  Most shoppers are like TGATP and want instant gratification and will not pay extra to have to wait.  In these tight economic times, brands need to be more conscious of potential lost revenue streams like this.

NYDJ Faye Wide Leg

NYDJ:  Not Your Daughter’s Jeans has revamped, renewed, redesigned, and re-named their brand.  This Fall, there are so many innovations that it is hard to choose.  While still providing their patented lift and hold in the waist and rear, NYDJ has come up with some really hot on trend looks.  With the ’70’s making an appearance in all major brands this season, NYDJ takes it to the max with embellished rear pockets.  I have the Faye wide legged flares and I also love the snazzy skinny red pair.  The flares are waaaaayyyy too long so NYDJ, like Old Navy, needs to rethink their proportions.

To celebrate the Fall season, NYDJ has offered to gift one lucky winner with a pair of their choice!  To enter to win, subscribe to TGATP, retweet this story @tgatp, ‘Like” That Girl On the Party on Facebook, and leave a comment about what you look for in jeans! I know it sounds like a lot.  But the jeans are worth it!
