Any regular TGATP knows, Jennifer Mueller/The Works is my favorite dance troupe. This week, I was blessed to celebrate my three-year anniversary of covering their performances with them at their Spring 2012 Gala. This year’s soiree was splashier than last with a performance at the Barsynikov Arts Center and dinner at not new NY event spot, 404 (404 10th Avenue).
While last year Mueller premiered her riveting piece “The White Room”, this year we were treated to a program best described as “the best of” Jennifer Mueller/The Works featuring: Lovers, Amor Fati, Flowers, Aria, and Momentum. Special awards were given to The Dancers’ Resource of the Actors Fund, Edward and Sylvia Agostini, and Erwin L. Atkins. I am always alternatively breathless and moved to tears by these performances. I highly recommend that you check this company out.
