Awesome Urban Daddy Holiday Party!

The one bad thing about not working in an office is that you don’t have a traditional holiday office party.  Thus, I was thrilled to attend the Urban Daddy holiday fete held at the Stephen Weiss Studio (711 Greenwich St.), which turned out to be one of the best parties of the year!  Simulating a winter wonderland, the downstairs room was decorated with large screens projecting snow falling, white couches, and sparkling jeweled chandeliers.  The catering, provided by Little Owl, featured two stations of delectable food, passed hor d’oeuvres, and trays of food on every table!  Food was even served to guests at they waited in the line for a plate!  It is certain that no one went hungry!  For drinks, we had the choice of Veuve Clicquot champagne, a Martini bar , and Patron sponsored tequila and vodka cocktails!  The gorgeous glass enclosed upstairs area was sponsored by DeBeers/A Diamond is Forever and featured a cozy raging fire, a table filled with baked goodies, candies and other sweets, and a bar offering coffees infused with various liqueurs. One of my favorite DJs, Mia Moretti was spinning the tunes.

On top of it all, we were treated to a concert by one of my favorite singers, the incomparable Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings!  I have all of Sharon’s CDs and it was my first time seeing her live (check out my favorite Sharon CD 100 Days, 100 Nights)!  Despite a persistent sound system malfunction , she delivered a totally awesome show!  She even grabbed me from the audience to boogie with her on stage, which was a total blast!  If you ever get a chance to see her, Sharon is not to be missed!

This amazing event was planned by BMF with decor designed by Angela Giannopoulos from SC3 Group.  It was a party done totally right with a warm ambiance, the perfect food, ample drinks, and the best in entertainment!
