Having passed through the tears and sadness phase, I am now in the anger-turned-to-activism stage about the Aurora shooting. My wrath is directed at the NRA and the lazy politicians that continue to allow for these tragedies. We need better gun laws. PERIOD. The 2nd Amendment allows the right to bear arms because the Founding Fathers feared a tyranny of government if the citizenry could not form militias. It reads: A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. And Thomas Jefferson stated, “The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.” Considering that they were living under the tyranny of the English, their sentiments made sense at the time.
However, I am positive that they, in no way, intended the 2nd Amendment to protect a crazy person’s right to arm himself with assault rifles and gun down innocent people trying to get a high school education, or shop in a mall, or enjoy a summer blockbuster. I just went online to check out what one reporter stated on “This Week with George Stephanoulous” and you can buy an assault rifle for $79! It is time to stop the nonsense and the politicking and stand up for what is right. Yes, the people have a right to bear arms AS A MILITIA and AS A LAST RESORT! But anyone against a ban on assault weapons is an accessory to each of these shootings. There is no way we can, as a nation of conscientious people, continue to claim disbelief and sadness when people are gunned down while allowing the easy sale of these weapons of mass destruction. It is hypocrisy of the highest order and time for Obama, Romney, and all politicians and citizens to put human Life first. I am pissed and I want action, not rhetoric, on this issue! Stop consoling mourning families and start protecting them. From the look of him in court today, Holmes is totally koo-koo for Cocoa Puffs. But so is anyone that supports allowing the easy purchase of assault weapons, which opens up the possibility of kooks like him, killing and maiming dozens of people with them.
George Zimmerman is guilty as all get out for the murder of Trayvon Martin and it is ridiculous that this wingnut is still even awaiting trial. That there were claims this week, that he is not only a racist murderer but also a child molester, is no surprise. The emerging facts about this fool are so egregious that his case may be the only time when I think that we don’t even need to have a trial! This lowlife needs to be locked away for a very long time, in a very small cell with a very large cellmate, who has a disdain for both racist murderers and child molesters. I was totally and utterly disgusted by this sicko’s claims that his murder of a 17-year old, who was simply buying some Skittles and an iced tea, was “an act of God”! Who is Zimmerman’s God? Beelzebub? Because his depraved act was definitely not sanctioned by God or any other divine Source. I hope that he is pleading insanity because he clearly is crazy to make a claim like that! This fool has even set up another fundraising website on which he claims:
“The money donated here will be used for George Zimmerman’s ongoing living expenses, legal costs, and fees for this matter. The funds are being administered by a third-party administrator, who has a background as a former IRS agent, a Certified Public Accountant, and great experience in dealing with Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustee matters.” So while tons of innocent people are struggling and losing their homes and the like, this idiot thinks that people should be sending his guilty ass money for his “ongoing living expenses”? What do those expenses entail? The laundering of his white sheets? The wheels of justice can’t turn fast enough in this case. TGATP is too over this one!
My heart breaks for Usher and his ex, Tameka Foster, who just lost their 11-year old child, Kile. No parent should ever have to bury their young and my sympathy to Kile’s siblings and all of his family. And I hope that Usher and Tameka can find the strength and grace to see them through this terrible time.
Wow! Who knew that Michael Clarke Duncan is dating Omarosa, the gal that everyone loved to hate from the 1st season of “The Apprentice” and the 7th season of “Celebrity Apprentice.” She was on the show back before if jumped the shark with all kinds of dreadful who-are-they celebs, like Paul Teutul, Sr. and Dayanna Mendosa. I say, it is time for an All-Star edition where they bring back all the mean contestants, like Omarosa. She is one tough cookie and lucky for Michael that she is. A recent report stated, that when he suffered a heart attack, she sprung into super hero nurse mode and gave him life-saving CPR! What a gal!
And finally, while it has only been a year since the pics of his appendage and other body parts turned up on the internet after being posted on Twitter by Weiner himself, Anthony Weiner seems to be testing the waters for a political comeback. From Clinton and the notorious stained dress to Guiliani‘s multiple affairs to Spitzer’s hooker habit, there have been numerous political men involved in nasty sex scandals that have preceded his. So I see no reason why he will not ultimately overcome his minor scandal. It’s 2012 folks. Time we recognized that most people have some skeletons in their closets, especially high powered men. I welcome Weiner’s return.
