Fabulous Fashion Night Out

Fashion Night Out 2010 was a smashing time with concerts and parties all over town!  Throngs of people filled the streets and raised much needed funds for the NY AIDS Foundation.

This year, I made it to five awesome events.  First stop, the gorgeous Deva Spa for a paraffin hand massage.  We met the wonderful Lana, who gave both fantastic hand treatments and a good laugh.  Then it was off to the Bryan Adams concert at Calvin Klein.  The store was jammed packed and full of folks so young that they were actually asking,“Who is Bryan Adams”!  I was shocked.  I mean, I wasn’t around when Mozart was a rock star, but I know who he is!  Corrine Bailey Rae‘s riveting performance at the Plaza was one for the ages, an unforgettable and intimate showcase of her beauty and talent.  The Warren Tricomi crew went all out with both the concert by Bailey Rae and a kicking party that raged well past the stores all closing.  My evening ended with a quick stop to see Christian Siriano play fashion Pictionary at Saks and a visit to my favorite cupcake spot the Magnolia Bakery, which was immortalized in “Sex and the City” on the way home.

I love this event and hope that next year the organizers and sponsors have the foresight to extend it to “Fashion Week Out” to correspond with the entire NY Fashion Week.  There are simply too many events crammed into one night and even with the best of efforts, I could only make about four of them.  TGATP also feels that much more money could be raised by both extending the day to a week and making the adorable FNO Collection more readily available at the stores and online. (It took calls to 7 stores to find a hoodie!) Many FNO attendees were roaming the streets looking for the FNO merchandise as the evening drew to a close.

For those folks that are still looking for the FNO items, Nanette Lepore (423 Broome Street b/t Crosby and Lafayette) has the white tees in L and XL, and the long sleeve grey shirts and hoodies in all sizes.  Gant (645 Fifth Avenue and 51st St.) has the white tees and the tanks in all sizes and the hoodies, as well.  Please buy the collection out as the money goes to such a vital cause!
