Captain America: The Winter Soldier – The latest, and one of the greatest of the Marvel franchises finds Cap working with Black Widow and The Falcon against the shadowy evil of the Winter Soldier and HYDRA.
It’s raucous and over-the-action-top with all the requisites of great films in the genre – hand-to-hand combat, explosions, car chases, and quotable lines. Chris Evans is the perfect Captian America. In fact, I can’t think of anyone else who could’ve played him, except for maybe his lookalike Channing Tatum.
It’s always a pleasure to see the thinking woman’s sex symbol, Anthony Mackie in anything. I am a big fan, having met him a couple times on various junkets. I have met both Mackie and Evans. and it is such a delight to see them together. They are the sort of stars you want to see make millions as they are two of Hollywood’s modern gents.
The other great thing about Marvel films is there are always kickass women. I want to BE Black Widow. Scarlett Johansson is red hot! The one thing I would’ve added is a cameo from Robert Downey Jr., Iron Man. Especially towards the end during some of the final fight scenes, it would have added to the cool factor.
See this on as big a screen as you can but skip the 3D. It’s underutilized so you won’t notice anything different, except the lightness of your wallet for paying $18.50 for the ticket!
