Program Credited with Finding Upcoming Best Sellers Names Finalists for Adult, Young Adult and Middle Grade Panels
Today, BookExpo announced its finalists for the prestigious Editors’ Buzz program, which names the top authors and titles expected to resonate with readers in 2017. The slate of books is divided into three Editors’ Buzz panels:
- The Adult Panel will be Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 1:45 PM
- The Young Adult Panel will be Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM
- The Middle Grade Panel will be Friday, June 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM
Over the past years, BookExpo’s Editors’ Buzz program has had a tremendous track record of predicting the coming year’s hottest books. Last year’s selections included breakthrough books such as: Another Day in the Death of America, by Gary Younage; Darktown, by Thomas Mullen; Caraval, by Stephanie Garber; Thieving Weasels, by Billy Taylor; Gertie’s Leap to Greatness, by Kate Beasley; and The Adventurer’s Guide to Successful Escapes, by Wade Albert White. In addition, over the past three years, the program has selected nine books that made it onto The New York Times Best Sellers list.
“BookExpo’s Buzz program has done an amazing job selecting upcoming bestsellers and books that make a deep impact in the industry,” said Brien McDonald, Event Director for BookExpo & BookCon. “We’re thrilled with these selections and believe this year’s crop of authors and titles will become household names and appear on bestsellers list in the coming months.”
The selection process was made by three separate committees of booksellers, librarians and other industry professionals. The thoughtful debates within the selection process are designed to achieve the widest possible consensus. The Buzz Panel presentations, which feature book editors discussing the individual selections, will be supplemented with an Author Stage appearance for the chosen authors.
