#AmericanEagle For Grown-Ups

(While American Eagle supplied samples, the opinion below is my own and I shop there regularly.)

Many clothing brands I talk to are making the mistake of not marketing to all ages and stating that their targets are “millenials” or “20-somethings.” The problem with that is that 40 truly is the new 20.  Nowadays, most of us 40 and ups, can dress in many of the same pieces as our younger counterparts.

In fact, I attended an amazing panel about retailing and the consumer, where it was stated that the baby boomers and borderline Gen Xers, like myself, actually have almost identcal shopping taste to Millenials, in terms of fashion and technology.  Plus, we have more disposable income since most millenials are still stuggling with their school loans and just starting out in their careers.  Smart marketers need to take note, baby boomers make up 40% of the population!

One example of a brand that I love that is targeting millenials is American Eagle. Granted, I am not crazy about extreme low rises, shortie shorts, or extreme crop tops, nor would they be age appropriate. However, I live in American Eagle jeans and there are tons of other adorable options that all ages can rock.

Here is a gallery of my AE picks for Fall 2015 that are a stylish wardrobe addition for every woman from 16 to 70! I live in the denim mini with the studded buttons down the front and can’t wait for fall to rock the adorable maroon dress. Other must-haves are the flared Boho jean, peasant top and the poncho.  Go to ae.com to shop these looks.
