One of my favorite days of the year is the Coney Island Mermaid Parade, which combines my two favorite things – costumes and the beach! This year was more low key with less folks dressed up and fortunately a lot less ghetto element than last year. (I was nursing a sprained toe so I was also a bit less mobile than usual.)
If you’ve never been to the Mermaid Parade, make sure to go next year as Coney is changing fast! Here’s hoping that boardwalk bars, Rudy’s and Cha Cha’s can hang on for another year since they provide the best improv after parties for the parade. As usual, TGATP had a blast!
