Awwww, woman basher Chris Brown is begging his “fans” to call radio stations to get his music played. In an appeal on SayNow.com he states, “I ain’t (sic) never really did this but right now I need all of my fans’ help. It’s crazy because a lot of radio stations aren’t playing my records. They’re not being that supportive and I wouldn’t expect them to. It’s on the fans and what you guys do in your power to bring me back because that’s all I need. Nothing else will do that except for the fans. There’s nothing else that I can do. I’m doing everything that I need to do. I’m doing me as a person and I’m a better guy. But it’s on y’all. My singing and my music is all great, but I do it for you guys and everything else but it won’t be possible if I’m not relevant on the radio and it won’t be possible for me to be an artist if I don’t have any support from people that give me an artists outlet. I can’t be an underground mix tape artist! I just want all my fans to help me. I love y’all. Peace.”
Unfortunately, Chris should’ve thought of this before he knocked Rhianna around! Son, a newsflash, your career is likely done. Few in the mainstream media want to be seen supporting a guy prone to violence against women! In addition, Rhianna has some pals, like Jay-Z, in very high places. I will never have any of Brown’s music or see any of his films after what he did to that darling girl! (Although I loved “This Christmas”, I couldn’t even bring myself to watch that this past holiday season.) While I do believe in redemption and forgiveness, unfortunately for Chris, there are just too many artists for people to support this type of lowlife behavior. His core audience was young girls, who need to find him attractive and see themselves with him, in order to want what he is selling. The problem for Chris is that he was not as hot, as say a Trey Songz to begin with, and then he added an even uglier image of abuser to his persona! He’s akin to Ike Turner and Bobby Brown now. People in the public eye always need to ask themselves, how will my behavior play out to my public and act accordingly! I hope Chris Brown’s career free-fall will be a cautionary tale for every other young star planning to act the fool!
And speaking of acting the fool, what was the formerly red-hot, D’Angelo thinking getting popped for trying to pay $40 for oral sex? Say it isn’t so, that the man who made every woman’s heart flutter with his naked video for “How Does it Feel” in 2000, is now reduced to soliciting crack ho’s, which is about the only thing he would be getting for $40! Hell, even crack ‘hos are probably more expensive than that in this City. What was he paying for? One lick? And what has the world come to? You seemingly can’t find a good hit man or a cheap ‘ho, who isn’t an undercover cop anymore!
Was very saddened by the story of Constance McMillan, the Mississippi teen who wanted to attend her prom with her girlfriend and was denied! According to the Huffington Post, the seniors were issued guidelines on bringing dates to the prom, one of which was that the date be of the “opposite sex.”! Thus Constance and her girlfriend were forced to go to the American Civil Liberties Union of Mississippi to demand their rights. But the school board refused to revoke these crazy rules and instead cancelled the prom altogether! Can everyone get over this ridiculous homophobia already and just in the words of the great Lenny Kravitz, “Let love live!” I mean really, now all of the kids are being denied their once-in-a-Lifetime affair just because the school board is bigoted? At my own prom, my date was Costa Rican making us the only interracial couple. But while this created titters in my Maryland hometown, at least, the school board wasn’t crazy and stupid enough to cancel the prom over it!
Note to Democrats: Health care. Pass it. NOW! Move on to jobs! It is utterly RIDICULOUS that while the Republicans have formed an impenetrable voting bloc, there are still Democrats, like Luis Guitteriez of Illinois, going against their own party with ludicrous claims. Guitteriez’s argument against the bill is that “it doesn’t cover illegal aliens”! In other words, Guitteriez feels that illegal workers should have the same rights as legal ones? Get real! The bill needs a public option for low paid workers, who are American citizens, before we worry about paying for undocumented people! Why should the American people foot that bill when we don’t even have universal health care for our own citizenry? And with nutcases, like Eric Massa in the party, it is time for Nancy Pelosi to do a sweep for Democratic Congressional members, who have formed sleeper cells consisting of Republicans in disguise, just waiting to destroy the Democratic party!
And finally, Mbarek Lafrem, the crazed madman who attacked a nurse at the midtown bar Social, deserves the maximum sentence that the Court can throw at him! To have beat this poor woman senseless, just because she refused to dance with him, is totally indefensiblel. I was so glad that this psycho was caught quickly as he was a threat to all the women in this City. And I am completely outraged to read in today’s Daily News that this fool had the unmitigated gall to plea “self defense”! He actually had the nerve to claim that the victim attacked him when he followed her into the WOMEN’s bathroom! Why was he even IN the WOMEN’s bathroom? Hopefully, plenty of people will make him their dance partner in prison!
