TGATP Must Have: Badichi Customized Belts

Submitted by on Friday, 12 March 2010No Comment

Baldichi opened its first standing retail store at 159 Prince St in Soho.  Housed in a quaint boutique in the heart of Soho, the new atelier offers fashion-conscious men and women the opportunity to design their own belts in less than two minutes flat!  Tired of only being able to purchase the universal designer belts with standard buckles, Managing Director Yinon Badichi invented Badichi Customized Belts so that consumers would be able to get the luxury leathers they craved paired with a distinct buckle of their own choosing.  “Baldichi Customized Belts delivers an original shopping experience for customers who are looking to personalize their most important accessory and synchronize an entire look.  Our new belt boutique offers a fashion concept that New York City is currently lacking.” Yinon states.

The concept is simple.  Customers choose from the large collection of handcrafted, unique, and edgy buckles and then couple their chosen buckle with one of the many fine leathers from Italy, India or South America.  The salespeople then help the customer with fit and attach the buckle to the leather.  The result: a belt that is totally unique and suited to the individual taste of the consumer!  I absolutely adore the one that I was allowed to design, and take home, from the opening preview party.  A deep chocolate croc-style leather with a whimsical hippie style buckle, it suits me to a tee and looks equally fantastic with jeans and fancier trousers!

From handcuffs to painted florals and encrusted crystals to elegantly basic buckles, there are a zillion looks to choose from and the leathers come in dozens of different colors and textures.  Back in February, legendary actor Dustin Hoffman stopped by and designed his own belt and I expect that Badichi will be a popular place for celebrity spotting in the future.  With over 10 thriving locations on two continents, Badichi is set to take the NYC fashion scene by storm!
