Every truly modern TGATP gal is a gamer!  Top of my list this year are a bunch of  must-have Nintendo products.  First off is the Nintendo Wii.  Two years of not smoking and constant party coverage have packed the pounds on me, so I am especially excited about the wonderful home gym feature, Wii Fit.  I fully intend to use it get back into tip-top shape this year.  It also makes the perfect Valentine’s Day Gift, because there is nothing hotter than getting fit with your honey!

In addition, I recently attended the launch of Wii Yoga.  Developed by top model Anja Rubik in collaboration with JoWooD Productions, Wii Yoga is just mad cool as it allows us novice yoga folk to get our downward dog on without having to be embarrassed in front of those annoyingly flexible longtime yoga enthusiasts.  An onscreen instructor walks you through the poses while the Wii Balance Board corrects your positioning by showing a color-coded diagram on your TV screen.  Some more advance yoga followers have complained about this being too basic.  But since I am totally new to the practice, it worked for me at the demo.  A Nintendo Wii is definitely on my shopping list for the coming year.

With touch control and dual screen plus Wi-Fi, the latest version of the world’s best-selling portable console, the Nintendo DSi is a TGATP must have Valentine’s Day gift!  And the best thing of all is, that not only can you buy the already available games, this newest model allows you to download hundreds of game directly to your console.  My favorites are the totally addictive fashionista game Style Savvy, which allows the user to play fashion stylist; the classics like, Bejeweled Twist and Super Mario Brothers, and all of the Brain Age games.  You can check your e-mails through the DSi browser, record and playback your voice, and even listen to your favorite music files.  The DSi also has a camera with tons of fun effects including frames and mirrored, distortion, and mischief lens!   In addition, with Flipnote Studio, you can become an animator and create and upload your favorite animations!  The Nintendo DSi offers hours of entertainment in a tiny transportable package.  There will be no more children screaming “Mom are we there yet?” from the back seat and no more complaints about long delays of any sort!  I was gifted with a pretty pink one and I just can’t put it down!  I will definitely have to put a daily time limit on this baby, as I spot a new addiction coming on!
