TGATP Remembers

Remembering Horst Rechelbacher

I was deeply, deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Horst Rechelbacher, the Founder and CEO of Intelligent Nutrients, Founder of Aveda, innovative business leader, author, artist, and truly amazing human being.

Remembering Dear Abby

America lost a national treasure this week with the passing of Pauline (PoPo) Friedman Phillips, better known as Abigail Van Buren or “Dear Abby”! With most of the letters virtually anonymous – “Sally from Sarasota” – she created a form of reality journalism, a more tasteful and private precursor to the full-on confessionals on Springer, Maury and other reality TV shows. “Dear Abby” was tell without the show.

TGATP Mourns The Newtown 27

I was all set to start my holiday gift guide and tell readers about all the stuff they should put under there trees, when a tragedy so devastating and heart-wrenching hit America, that I was unable to think about much else. In the memory of all people, including the Newtown 27, murdered by semi-automatic guns, TGATP calls for a full ban on the use of these weapons.

Remembering Steve Jobs

One year after his passing, we take a minute to remember visionary pioneer Steve Jobs, who literally changed the way that TGATP and the world works, creates, learns and lives. There will truly never be another one like him and we celebrate him on this day.

Hollywood Remembers Tony Scott On Twitter

The suicide of iconic film director Tony Scott was a shock to the entire Hollywood community, TGATP, and the world. It is reported today that Scott had inoperable brain cancer, which may have led to his decision. Noted for redefining the Hollywood action movie and virtually creating the Hollywood blockbuster, Scott was a beloved member of the Hollywood community as noted by celebrity twitter feeds this morning.

Remembering the late great Helen Gurley Brown

Yesterday the world lost a true original. Helen Gurley Brown, who through her 30+ year tenure as Editor-In-Chief of “Cosmopolitan” magazine, forged the way for women to freely accept and enjoy their sexuality, passed away at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center.

The Week The Music Died

Don McLean in his epic “American Pie” sings of the day the music died commemorating February 3 1959, the tragic day the plane carrying Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and the Big Bopper crashed. Well, this was the WEEK the music died with the loss of, not one. but four icons of ’70’s music.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Today hold your Mom tight and tell her you love her. My beloved Mom passed on suddenly last year, so this is my second Mother’s Day without her. But she stays ever near and dear in both my heart and her Spirit. Since she loved to dance and laugh, I will be honoring her by doing both this Mother’s Day.
